About Me

I am a speech-language pathologist (SLP) at Expo for Excellence Elementary School. I have been an SLP for 13 years in elementary and middle schools, and this is my sixth year at Expo!  We are lucky to have three SLPs at Expo this year: me, Micaela Douglas, and Kelli Snyder.  

Outside of work, I volunteer with community theaters, voter outreach, and the Homework Help program at the library. I speak moderate amounts of Spanish and Russian, and I love helping kids develop their speech and language skills!

FAQ about speech-language services:

My child has speech-language services! How do I know which SLP they are seeing?

Your child's SLP will be reaching out to you at the beginning of the year. If you have moved to Expo at the beginning of the year, we will reach out as soon as we receive your child's paperwork from their previous school or district.  If your child has services in additional areas, you can also contact their case manager. When in doubt, feel free to contact any Expo SLP, and we will make sure your message gets to the right person!

I have concerns about my child's speech or language development. What should I do?

Talk with your child's classroom teacher about a possible referral for screening by a speech-language pathologist. You can also contact any Expo SLP directly, and we will get in touch with you.

My child had an evaluation or gets speech-language services at a clinic or hospital.  Would they be able to get speech-language services at school?

They might! School criteria for services are sometimes different from the criteria used by clinics and insurance providers, but we would definitely like to know about any outside evaluation or services, and we will help you determine what the next steps might be at school.
