Hello and Welcome!

I am thrilled to be teaching third grade with Ms. Witt and Ms. Commers at Horace Mann for the 2023-24 school year! This year marks my 17th year working in the Saint Paul Public Schools, with the majority of my time working with second and third graders. I LOVE this age group and feel my strengths align well with the curriculum. My goal is to build a tight-knit community of learners who work, play, and solve problems together.

My hope for each student is that they grow tremendously as strategic readers, critical thinkers, problem solvers, and become creative, life-long learners. I love learning and I want your children to love it as well!

I was born in Minneapolis, MN and grew up in the Minnehaha Falls area. I decided in third grade I wanted to become a teacher. I spent countless hours “playing school” in my grandma’s basement with my neighborhood friends. I attended the University of Minnesota for both my degree in teaching and my master's degree. I have two boys, ages nine and twelve. Wesley graduated from Horace Mann last spring (now a middle schooler- yikes!) and Gavin is in third grade here at HM. In my free time, I enjoy walking my two Boston Terriers, gardening, and fishing.

Communication is crucial and I strongly believe that parents and educators working together as a team is what is best for children. Please feel free to reach out via email anytime.
