BA in Elementary Education, Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction, K-12, with a concentration in Gifted & Talented Instruction from the University of St. Thomas. Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology. I feel very fortunate to have a professional career in St. Paul Public Schools and to be teaching at Horace Mann Elementary school. I've taught in the, St. Paul Public School District for over 20+ years. I've had a broad range of experiences including teaching Kindergarten through graduate school as both a Gifted & Talented Teacher and adjunct college professor (for 10 years).

I want second graders to LOVE learning, be proud of themselves and respectfully connect with others and the world in which they live. I believe that building a cohesive and strong classroom community of learners is important. It's exciting to watch second graders reach their full potential. I also place a high premium on growing positive working relationships with parents. I look forward to a great year.
Outside of school, I love to spend time with family and friends. I enjoy trying new things. I have many interests: art, sewing, music, traveling and I love to read books written by African American authors. I also have four dogs and 1 cat.
