The district-wide WINN (What I Need Now) Reading program began during the 2021-2022 school year. It provides time for kindergarten through third grade students to be seen more often by a licensed teacher for small group instruction during the literacy block.

Small-group instruction means students receive more support throughout each reader's stage of literacy development. Teachers deliver specific lessons that help readers become confident with increasingly challenging texts. The science of reading guides the WINN reading block based on the most current research regarding what, when, and how language skills need to be taught.
