It is a delight to teach the content and process of science and engineering. Everyday, I am reminded of why I love my job! Besides the day to day units that we study, we also connect to the outdoors with our school garden where students start seedlings and tend to the garden and harvest vegetables and herbs in the spring and fall. There is also an opportunity for families during the summer to adopt the garden. We also do some citizen science experiments with planting bulbs in the fall, and a painted lady butterfly release in the spring.

 

There is always something fun and interesting happening in the science lab! Whether we are growing brine shrimp, exploring forces and motion, learning about energy and being conservation minded, designing a way to solve an engineering problem, or flying the kites we build, we are sure to learn a lot! It is my honor and privilege to teach your young scientist and engineer about the delights and wonders of the natural world and the process of science and engineering.
