  • All Hazel Park students are encouraged to achieve to their fullest potential by exploring issues on a global scale. As an International Baccalaureate World School Primary Years Programme (PYP), and Middle Years Programmes (MYP), our school provides students with a global perspective. Students are inspired to explore complex topics through open discussion and teamwork. Hazel Park offers classes in Spanish, art, music and physical education. All students benefit from technology, field trips, and teaching that addresses learning styles and interests and athletics are offered for boys and girls after school. Staff members work in close collaboration with families, knowing that together we can create a team that surrounds each child with care and encouragement.

    Transportation

    If your student will be taking the bus, please arrive at the bus stop five minutes before the bus is scheduled to pick up your student.  If you believe your student is taking the bus but did not receive any information, please call the school office at 293-8970 as soon as possible.  Please do not wait until the first day of school!

    Walking to School

    If you live less than one-half mile (Grades K-5) and one mile (Grades 6-8), your child should walk from home to school.  School patrols will be at the following corners: Case/White Bear, Ames/White Bear, and Maryland/White Bear, from 7:55 am to 8:10 am, and at dismissal.  (Important:  There will be NO patrols before or after that time).   School patrols work under the supervision of the Saint Paul Police Department, assisted by School Patrol Supervisor, Robin Landowski.  Questions or concerns, call Robin at 651-293-8970.

    LUNCH APPLICATIONS

    It is IMPORTANT that you fill out a free/reduced lunch application every school year.  Lunch applications have been mailed to every family. If you did not receive an application in the mail, please call 651-603-4950 to have one mailed to you.  You can also pick one up at school or apply online at https://mealapp.spps.org.  

    STUDENT ATTENDANCE

    Regular attendance is essential for school success.  We monitor attendance each day and follow the Minnesota law for compulsory school attendance.  Please call Robin Landowski at 651-293-8970 to report your child’s absence or if your child is going to be tardy.  You did an outstanding job with your children last school year.
