Hello HPPA students and families!

My name is Ms. Katherine, and I am the MYP Counselor here at Hazel Park. This is my second year at HPPA, and as a school counselor, and I'm so excited for the 20-21 school year. I spent a lot of time teaching reading and special education around the Twin Cities before I decided to officially become a school counselor. I finished my Master's in Education in 2020 in Richmond, Virginia (where I was born) before coming back to St. Paul. This is my favorite city, and I'm lucky that I get to work here. My favorite part of my job is, without a doubt, getting to build relationships with my students.

When I’m not at school, I love spending time at the lakes with my friends, listening to music, and trying new foods. I am a HUGE sports fan. Baseball is my favorite--I watch every single Phillies game--but I love all of them. I never miss a Phillies game or a 76ers game!
