Hello Hazel Park students and families! My name is Alex Young and I’ll be starting my first year here as one of the school’s two speech-language pathologists. I will be working with students Pre-K– 8^th grade and I’m incredibly excited about getting started! I’ve been working for the district, and as a speech-language pathologist since 2020. I graduated with a masters in Speech Language Hearing Sciences from the University of Minnesota in 2020.

Outside of school, I spend my time working on puppet shows! I have been a puppeteer since 2011, after graduating with degrees in both English and Theatre from Duke University. I have performed in China, Prague, and across the United States. My specialty is shadow puppetry.

Every child has the ability and the right to communicate. I love helping kids with speech and language and I’m thrilled to be jumping back into fall!
