Greetings Hazel Park Preparatory Academy Community,  

I am excited to join the learning community of Hazel Park as your new Assistant Principal. Over my 26 years of teaching and leadership experience in Saint Paul Public Schools, I have been a Classroom Teacher, an Enrichment Specialist, a Montessori Coach, a Secondary Math Content Coach, K-12 Program Manager of Gifted Services, Supervisor of Pre-Kindergarten Programming, as well as a Learning Lead.  I have also been a Site Leader for Extended Day and a Summer School Administrator. I am licensed to teach Pre-K through Grade 6 and Administration K-12. As a lifelong learner I’ve enjoyed studying abroad in both Merida, Mexico and Spain, and most recently completed my Education Specialist Degree in Leadership for Equitable Innovation and Transformation at Hamline University in May 2023. 

I come to Hazel Park community with both PYP and MYP training and a strong background in curriculum design, literacy and the arts.  Professionally, I’m very passionate about supporting individual student interests and immersing students in inquiry-based learning.   

I am married to an educator, and between us we have 3 children. I enjoy spending time with family, cooking, and travel. Our children have all left the nest, and our two Labradors keep us active and give us loving company.
