I am Ms. Kyung, and I began teaching in 2000. I have taught Language Arts/ English in all grades from 6-12, but I am currently the WINN (What I Need Now) reading teacher at Hazel Park Preparatory Academy. 

In 1995, I graduated from St. Paul Central after attending SPPS since kindergarten.  I then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Education degree from the U of MN. I have always been a St. Paulite, and I love all that the city has to offer. 

Though I've been teaching for a long time, I just began my career in SPPS (where I feel like I have come "home") in 2021. I love my students and believe that every one of them has many gifts to bring to our school, the community, and the world. There is great brilliance and possibility in HPPA, especially in the WINN room!

In my free time, I spend time with my dog, cat, bunny, and teenage son. I am an avid reader, knitter, and Broadway musical lover. My dream is to someday move to New York and live near Times Square.
