Parents: Here Are Ways To Enhance YOUR Child's Self Esteem

Planes
  • INVOLVEMENT, COMMITMENT, AND VOLUNTEERISM

" Understanding the vital role of parenting in education, Hazel Park Prep Academy Learning Community shall have a parent-driven organization whose membership consists of and serves the entire School. The parent organization shall work with students, staff, and administrators to create, facilitate, evaluate, encourage and support activities and programs that enrich the academic and life experience of the members in our community through ways not possible by individual effort."

    Parent Involvement

Parents are expected to be involved in their child/rens' education. You may choose to volunteer in the classroom - listening and helping reluctent readers or struggling math students, you could become a FRED Volunteer for 1 - 5 mornings a week ( listening to students read in the F.R.E.D. room), be a Room Mother or Room Father (assisting with 1 or 2 other parents in planning a couple of class celebrations), or,  volunteer during an evening performance during a whole school activitiy. You might want to volunteer to assist with a field trip, or, paper filing or room library assistance . Check with your child's teacher about needs they may have in mind. The community as a whole is invited to volunteer with helping teachers by listening to students read, flashcard drills for speed and accuracy, spelling practice with word families for instance or maybe helpchildren find relevant research for a project. You could share experiences to enhance student learning, or as you see, the sky is the limit!
