Meet Mrs. Taylor-Cooper

I was born in Detroit, Michigan and have four brothers and two sisters. I was homeschooled by my parents until I reached seventh grade. After being homeschooled, I attended a charter school, University Public School for 7^th and 8^th grade followed by Communication and Media Arts High School- very strict college prep school. I married my college sweetheart, Mr. Quennel Cooper Sr., on June 30^th of 2012 who now serves as principal in Inver Grove Heights School District-199. We have an active son who enjoys Taekwondo-2^nd degree black belt and being part of the YMCA swim team.  My marriage is the reason I moved to Minnesota where I currently continue to educate young scholars.

 I graduated from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education. I received my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from University of Phoenix in 2010. I truly enjoy teaching with animation expressions and great enthusiasm. My daily goals are to pass on my love of learning and wisdom. My future goals are to receive my administration license and a theology degree.

 My home visits practice started in Detroit, Michigan and I later became a strong participate and active member of the PTHVP (Parent Teacher Home Visit Project) in 2014. Home visits are beneficial for gaining a deeper cultural understanding and developing strong relationships between teachers, families, and scholars.

 When I am not teaching or planning awesome lessons for scholars, I enjoy the following: shopping on online, spending quality time with my family, health/fitness, dancing, watching movies- especially Grease and Transformers, and my place of worship.
