3rd Grade Homepage

Our 3rd grade team consists of: Mr. Lein, Ms. Hovelsrud, and Ms. Norby.

Math:

Students in 3rd grade learn new math skills as well as building on their previous knowledge. Some of the concepts that are focused on include: two-three digit addition and subtraction, multiplication strategies, division strategies, fractions, counting money, telling time, story problems, and reading charts/graphs.

Reading:

Students engage with a read aloud each day that is tied into a literacy mini lesson. Some of the mini lesson focuses include: comprehension strategies, genre studies, author studies, and more!

Writing:

Throughout the school year, we move through a variety of writing units. In each unit, we practice the writing process which includes: planning, drafting, revising, editing, and a final product. Students participate in shared research projects, book reviews, individual research projects, poetry writing, and more!
