Mr. Byron Carter

Hello!

My name is Byron Carter, and this is my 11th year teaching in the Special Education Program at Hidden River Middle School. I attended and graduated from Saint Mary's University with my education licensure and Master's Degree in Special Education. At Hidden River Middle School, I teach Math Concepts, Reading Strategies, Study Skills for High School Readiness, and a Foundations class. I support students in 6-8 grade. I am proudly committed to guiding our passionate students through middle school and transitioning to high school. While teaching students in our Special Education program, I am passionate about building positive relationships in the Hidden River middle school classroom.

Away from school, I live in the city of Brooklyn Park with my fiancés and two sons, who are six and fifteen years of age. When I am not working, I love to spend time with my family, especially my two sons. I love spending time with my oldest son by going to his baseball, football, and basketball games. We also enjoy biking, fishing, and visiting. I also love spending time with my youngest son as he learns to play sports. He started playing flag football this past fall. Lastly, I am originally from Joliet, Illinois, and a huge Chicago Bears fan!

I look forward to returning to the classroom to support Hidden River scholars. Please let me know if you have any questions that I could answer. The best and quickest way to contact me is via email at byron.carter@spps.org. You can also leave voicemail by calling 651.293.8860.
