Hi! My name is Emma Selnes, and I started teaching at Hidden River in 2022. I completed my student teaching here in the spring of 2022, and taught 5th and 6th grade art in summer school at GAP.

I grew up near Wisconsin Dells and after my first two years of college, transferred to complete my undergraduate and graduate degrees at University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Now I live in Roseville with my soon-to-be husband, cat, and dog. In my free time, I like to go for walks with the pets, make art, and rock climb. Plants and gardening are also things I enjoy. 

Students in art will explore a variety of 2D and 3D media in order to develop and grow their artistic skills, techniques, and knowledge. They will also learn about historical and contemporary artists, participate in critiques, and write about their own art.  

I'm very excited to continue working with the families and community members of Hidden River Middle School!
