Mrs. Olson

Mrs. Olson grew up with her father and younger brother going to school in San Francisco, Honolulu, and Japan. After attending native Japanese schools at 11 years old, she graduated High School in Japan and later graduated Earlham College with a B.A. in International Relations. She was a Japanese interpreter for 15 years before returning to school at Hamline University and became a St. Paul Elementary School teacher in 2002. She has taught S.T.E.M. for K - 6th grade and has enjoyed being a homeroom teacher for Kindergarten, 2nd and 3rd grade.

Being a life-long learner is important to her, so she enjoys participating in professional trainings on language, culture, and ecology.

When she is not teaching, Mrs. Olson enjoys taking adventures in nature, learning about wildlife, reading, gardening, trying new foods and spending time with her three daughters, granddaughter, husband and 3 cats.

She loves teaching Kindergarten at Como Park Elementary with children from all over the world with diverse experiences because she finds that she learns new things from them and is inspired by them every day!
