Hello! My name is Jeanie Swenson and I love working with the students at Capitol Hill! I have taught for over 30 years in St. Paul Public Schools.

In addition to teaching first grade, I have been a fifth grade teacher, a science specialist, and a SEM (Schoolwide Enrichment Model Specialist) for grades k-6. My job as a SEM specialist included teaching art, creating studio productions, producing a daily news show and working with gifted students.

I am married and have two sons that have graduated from the University of Minnesota.  My passions, interests and hobbies are traveling, reading, painting, going on walks and eating great food with my husband, family and friends.  Dogs also make me smile!

I look forward to another amazing year with my firsties!
