Horace Mann School e-Learning Day Plan

Wednesday, February 22 and Thursday, February 23 there will be e-Learning Days for all Horace Mann School students. Friday, February 24 is a snow day - no school online or in-person.

 

At Horace Mann School, teachers will post student work in Seesaw or Schoology at 8:00am. Ms. Johnson and Ms. Kortuem will be unavailable today and do not have a substitute. Check Seesaw or Schoology for today’s work.

 

8:00am - Classroom teachers will host a classroom Google Meets with a morning meeting, attendance, and expectations for the day. Click the e-Learning Day Codes to find a teacher’s Google Meets on a student iPad.

 

  • K-3 students can use Seesaw to ask their teacher for help throughout the day.

  • Gr 4-5 students can email the teacher for assistance or their parents/guardians can contact the teacher directly.

  • Please go to your child’s Seesaw or Schoology class page for more information.

 

9:00am - Specialist teachers will host a Google Meets to help students who have questions. Click the e-Learning Day Codes to find a teacher’s Google Meets on a student iPad. 

 

  • Specialists will assign asynchronous work for each class on their own Seesaw/Schoology page at 8:00am. 

  • The reading teacher, Mr. Lindskoog, will host a drop-in Google Meets at 9:00 to help students who have questions. Please check your child's classroom teacher's Seesaw page for any asynchronous reading work to complete.

 

*Special Education teachers and service providers will hold Google Meets with students at their regularly scheduled time. The links will be found in Google Meets on student iPads.

SPPS follows state education guidelines that allow districts to offer e-learning days due to inclement weather. The district may call an “e-Learning day” if:

 

  • Wind chills are forecasted to be -35 or colder at 6 a.m. OR

  • Snow makes it too difficult for our students and staff to get to school
