Volunteer and Background Check

  • Volunteer with Four Seasons A+ Elementary!

Welcome and thank you for being a part of the Four Seasons A+ Elementary Volunteer Team. Your participation is important to the success of our students. As a volunteer, you provide additional educational opportunities for students, and support for teachers and administrators. Follow this link to let us know you are interested in volunteering or contact Karen Shanahan at karen.shanahan@spps.org or 651 325-2492.

All Four Seasons A+ volunteers must sign in at the office when they arrive. Volunteers will receive a nametag so they are recognized in the building.

All applicants applying for an ongoing volunteer position with Saint Paul Public Schools, and those volunteers not directly supervised by school staff, should complete the Volunteer Application and a Volunteer Background Investigation Permission and Release Form (below). The permission and release form allows the District to complete a criminal background investigation for each applicant. If a criminal background investigation is required for the volunteer assignment, it will have to be successfully completed before the volunteer is able to begin providing service at the school.

Saint Paul Public Schools has established a criminal background check procedure for volunteers for the following reasons:

    1. The District has a responsibility to protect students and staff from unnecessary risks.
    2. The District has a responsibility to provide a safe and nurturing environment for students.
    3. The District has a need to protect the reputation of the institution as a body charged with the care of children.
