Masters in Early Childhood Education Bachelors in Education for Students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Mrs. Charity Rogers

Charity Rogers is an Early Childhood Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher at Four Seasons A+ Elementary School working with  3 and 4 year olds. She has been teaching since 2006. Charity attended Illinois State University, earning a Bachelors degree in Education for students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing and a Masters Degree through Concordia University in Early Childhood.

As a teacher, Charity believes in making language accessible for all students regardless of preferred mode of communication -- Sign language, spoken language, and gestures are all used to assist in the growth of understanding and use of communication.   Charity also believes that learning through play and experience with peers is important to understand how to be in school and how to interact with similar aged peers in a small group environment.  Access to communication is vital for education.  Charity believes in providing structure, routine, nurturing and quality time for each child. Her goal throughout the year is to provide children with a solid base of knowledge to help them become successful as a learner. Charity focuses on providing developmentally appropriate opportunities to meet students where they are.  She loves the chance to watch each little person make progress!

Charity believes in a strong relationship with each student's grownup.  By sharing classroom experiences as well as experiences that occur at home, the entire team is able to encourage further communication related to real life experiences and to better understand how each student's successes and areas of need are truly individual.

Charity loves to spend time with her family playing games, moving our bodies outside and inside, camping, and reading a wide variety of books. She loves to say "Yes!" and try to figure out how to make new experiences happen.

Charity is quick to respond through phone calls, text, and email and loves to connect for things that are going well, family updates, and areas where support through collaboration is necessary.
