Sarah Boritzke

Sarah is a Deaf and hard of hearing Pre-K teacher at Four Seasons A+ Elementary School. She has been teaching since 2021. She attended University of Minnesota earning a masters degree in Deaf Education in May of 2021. Prior to gaining her masters degree she completed a bachelor's degree in American Sign Language Interpreting from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and worked as an educational interpreter for five years.

As a teacher, Sarah believes in providing a nurturing, structured and fun classroom environment where high quality instruction and language are accessible to each child through a variety of communication methods. She teaches using American Sign Language, English and visuals, believing that a strong foundation of language is the root of all successful learning and development. Her goals throughout the year are to meet each child where they are at, and encourage the development of social emotional learning skills. Sarah loves seeing the "ah ha" moments in her students as they grow and learn, as well as building community with the other students and staff of our Deaf and hard of hearing program!

Sarah believes strong communication with families and caregivers supports student engagement and learning. She stays in touch with families through Seesaw, phone calls and texts on a weekly basis to keep families informed on all of the fun happening in the classroom!
