Welcome to 1st grade!   

My name is Melanie Mao. I am so excited for this school year! I have been a teacher in Saint Paul Public Schools since the 2004-2005 school year. I have been a teacher at Eastern Heights Elementary for the majority of my career. I earned my Associates degree from Century College, my Bachelors degree in English and Elementary Education from Hamline University, my Masters degree in Education with an emphasis in Differentiated Instruction from Concordia University, and I went on to complete all of the K-12 reading endorsement coursework at Concordia University. As you can probably tell, I love learning as much as I do teaching! 

When I am not teaching, I enjoy epending time with my husband and four kids, singing, fishing, walking the trails near my home, cooking, baking, reading, creating art, and learning new things!
