Greetings!

My name is Mrs. Boyt, and I have been an EL (English Language) teacher here at Eastern Heights since 2018, but I have been teaching EL in St. Paul Public Schools since 1999. I taught for 2 years in the Peace Corps in Poland and spent 5 years teaching in Istanbul, Turkey where I met my husband, John who teaches English at Johnson High School (go Govies!). We have two children who also attend St. Paul Public Schools: Sam attends Como High School (go Cougars!) and Martha is at Murray Middle School (go Pilots!).

Although I live here now, I grew up in a small coastal town in California and I still have a hard time dealing with Minnesota winters. In my free time I love to read books, travel, garden and go thrifiting and garage-saleing. I am excited for a new year, even though I realize how difficult distance learning can be for our EL students.
