Humboldt's Debate team works with MNUDL (Minnesota Urban Debate League) which is run through Augsburg University. 

Debate is free for Humboldt Students to participate in. MNUDL pays for all bussing and meals at our tournaments.

Timeline: 

Our debate season runs from August - December (before winter break)

We practice 1-2 times a week after school (times are determined by what works best for the team each year!)

We have 6 core tournaments a year. They are always on Fridays or Saturdays or both. There are also other optional tournaments throughout the year. 

What's it about? 

Our debate topic for the 2020-21 School Year was "The United States federal government should enact substantial criminal justice reform in the United States in one or more of the following: forensic science, policing, sentencing."

The topic for 2021-22 is still being voted on by current debators.
