    The Hawks Nest News is a club that meets during advisory each day.  We produce a weekly news show that highlights happenings around the school and our local community as well as showcasing creative video and animated works created by Humboldt Students. 

    Crew members choose their story topic, write interview questions, contact the interviewees to arrange a time and place, film b-roll and edit the final footage.  They will work together with other crew members sharing the responsibilities of script writer, camera operator, interviewer, interviewee, talent scout, location scout, equipment manager, graphic artist, actor, editor, sound technician.  HNN is an excellent way for students to get practical job experience, develop soft skills and build their resume.

    Our goal: Is to create an exciting, interesting and professional looking news show that appeals to the Humboldt audience. 

    Hawks Nest News Mission Statement

    • To produce a quality school news show every week that reflects the diversity of our student population while highlighting and positively promoting events, activities and the unique talents of students in our school.
    • To build a diverse community of Leaders who lead by example; demonstrating strong work ethic, responsibility, teamwork, positivity, and compassion for others, serving as role models for the rest of the HNN crew and our peers at Humboldt High School.

    Who are we looking for:

    Students who can take initiative to start and finish projects.  Priority will be given to those who have completed at least one video production class and can commit to being on the crew full time.  Part timers will be considered with a minimum of 3 days a week on the HNN crew.
