Hello Panthers!

My name is Diandra Werner (she/her), and I teach 7th grade English Language Arts. I grew up in Springfield, Illinois (which is the capital and is in central Illinois..there is more to Illinois than Chicago). I went to college at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (I-L-L-I-N-I). This will be year two at Battle Creek and year seven teaching. I am looking forward to a great year with my seventh graders.

A few fun facts about me: I enjoy baking, sewing, reading, and knitting. My favorite season is winter. I actually moved to Minnesota last school year and the Minnesotan winter was a huge selling point. Currently, I am pursuing both a M.F.A in Children's Literature and a M.S. in library sciences, so feel free to talk to me about all of the books.
