Hello, my name is Sharia Sandifer-Howze. My first name is pronounced (Sha-ree-a). Because it is mis-pronounced so much, I prefer Sherie, pronounced (Share-ree). I am very excited about teaching 6th grade ELA this year. This is my 2nd year at Battle Creek as I was the interim 7th grade Science teacher last year. I have worked in SPPS since 2017, starting out as a para, then, being a substitute teacher, I have a Master's in Organizational Management and Communications from Concorida University in St. Paul. I am currently pursuing my Licensure/Master's in Communication Arts and Literature. This is my second year at Battle Creek after working here as a para and teaching science. 

I am a sports fanatic, as I used to play basketball for 12 years. I was once asked by the President of Concordia University to coach the women's basketball there, but I was too afraid to give it a try. Fast forward to today, I am married and a proud mother of two handsome sons. One is 12 and the other 17. They keep me busy both playing basketball and football. 

I look forward to this school year and I hope/plan to make a difference in Battle Creek.
