                 Personal Narratives

This unit is all about writing true, personal stories.

    Students will be expected to:

    • - write a story that zooms in on a small moment.

(Not just going to Nickelodeon Universe, but ONE ride.)
For example, I went there this summer with two girls I was caring for. First, we bought our tickets. They were really cheap, because it was Kid's Day. Next, we went on a ride with a lot of swings. The two girls went on a double swing, and I had to sit facing backwards. I instantly did not feel good, because I don't like not seeing where I am going. I closed my eyes the whole ride. At the end, the girls said, "Let's go again!" I said, "You two can go again, but I will watch."
Notice how I did not talk about all of the other rides we went on, but just ONE small moment.

    • - include punctuation (periods, exclamation points).
    • - use lower case and upper case letters appropriately.
    • - use the word wall as a resource.
    • - stretch out familiar words.
