Como Park students study the interdependent world we live in through a comprehensive social studies program. Students utilize critical thinking to develop projects individually and in small groups with a focus on addressing current issues and their historical origins. Skill development in reading, research, writing, and technology application are emphasized. Students have additional opportunities to participate in social studies education through a variety of co-curricular programs, such as the Washington D.C. Close Up program, Youth in Government, Knowledge Bowls, Junior Achievement, and National History Day.
