Welcome to E1 at Nokomis Montessori!

My name is Kristin Hegg. I am an E1 Montessori Teacher at Nokomis. E1 is a multi-grade classroom setting with first, second, and third graders all learning in the hands-on Montessori environment. The multi-grade aspect is one of my favorite things about Montessori. Students learn with and from one another. It provides students with opportunities to be leaders, role models, teachers, and a multitude of other roles. It is my goal for all students to be challenged at an academic level tailored to their individual needs while adhering to the Montessori curriculum with fidelity. Our E1 room is not just a classroom, but a community of learners and friends! 

I attended the University of Minnesota for my undergraduate and graduate degrees in elementary education and the University of Wisconsin - River Falls for my Montessori Certification. I have been teaching E1 at Nokomis since 2013.
