Welcome to E1! I’m excited about the opportunity to get to know you, and I’m looking forward to a happy and productive school year.

I would like to introduce myself and express just how excited I am to be working with you and your child this year!

My name is Rachel Otter.  I am originally from Burlington, WI, where most of my family still lives. I now live in Saint Paul with my boyfriend, Todd, and my dog, Nash. I moved to the Twin Cities to attend school at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and I stayed for Nokomis.  During the 2015-2016 school year the Nokomis community captured my heart and I have been here ever since.  In my time outside of school I love to hike and camp with my dog, attend Gopher Football games, and try to visit every MLB ballpark.

I obtained my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and my master's degree in Elementary Education at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities (GO GOPHERS!) in 2016 while student teaching with Ms. Betsy and have been formally teaching E1 at Nokomis since Fall 2016.  I then earned my Montessori teacher certification at Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center in Deerfield, IL in 2018. I am looking forward to having a great time teaching and learning with your child this school year.
