Ms. Stephanie

Welcome to the Counselor’s Corner,

I am beyond excited for a new school year here at Nokomis Montessori North! I am extremely passionate about school counseling and I absolutely love the opportunity to work and interact with every single student in our building. I have always loved working with children and giving them the tools and encouragement to become empowered young beings. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota as well as a minor in Family Social Science. After working at a Child Development Center for two years, I went back to the University of Minnesota to receive my Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology. I am a licensed K-12 counselor in the state of Minnesota. When I am not at Nokomis, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing with my dogs, cheering on Minnesota sports teams (Go Gophers!), watching musical theatre, and much more!

As a School Counselor, my goal is to help all students better understand their own interests and skills while also providing them with different academic, career, and social emotional tools to achieve their full potential. Throughout the year I will teach classroom lessons, run group and individual counseling sessions, and collaborate with administration to ensure student success.
