My name is Julia Fung, students call me Fung Laoshi. I am the coach and curriculum coordinator at Jie Ming. My job is to mentor teachers, provide professional training, and oversee the curricula.

The first time I met a Jie Ming student was in September 2013, I was immediately impressed by how well the student spoke with me in Mandarin! I fell in love with all the students, staff, and the culture of the school. Today I can still testify that Jie Ming is one of the best places to learn, teach, and grow!

To provide some background information about myself. I grew up in Taiwan and Mandarin is my mother tongue. I came to the US not knowing a word of English when I was eleven years old. Being a teacher is my dream and now I am living my dream of being a St. Paul Public school teacher for almost 30 years and I am still enjoying going to work daily. I have worked as a classroom, reading, intervention teacher, literacy coach, and curriculum coordinator. I love all the diverse experiences that I have had.

As a coach and curriculum coordinator at Jie Ming, I have the privilege to work alongside wonderful and dedicated teachers who are totally immersed in preparing your child to be the best global citizen! I also love the fact that I get to know all the children at Jie Ming!

I'm married with three grown children, three grandsons, and two granddaughters. I enjoy gardening, reading, and spending time with my family.
