Dear Jieming families!

I feel so happy and lucky to be your kids’ art teacher starting from the 2020 school year! My name is Yijing Wei and I came from a beautiful city located on the east coast of China---Hangzhou, which is famous for the scenic beauty with lots of folklore. Your kids will have a chance to know them because I will introduce plenty of Chinese culture and traditional Chinese art to them.

Before I moved to the US, I worked as a teacher at the Art and Design school of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University in China for about 8 years. In 2015, I started my art studio in Maple Grove and now there are more than 80 students in my studio.

In my class, kids are free to express themselves because I encourage kids to draw with imagination which is such a key part of a kid’s growth. Meanwhile, art history and art culture also play an important role to build a kid's art thinking. These two elements compose my basic teaching philosophy. I want to create more interesting and creative classes for kids in Jieming. I hope all the kids will enjoy art and love art!

I love teaching and I also love to work with kids. I can’t wait to see you in the new school year!
