Hello families! My name is Sam Tribbey. You may know me as Ms. Ellis-- I got married this past July. :) I'm a fourth-year teacher and this is my third year at Jie Ming. I will support multilingual learners from 1st- 3rd grade this year. I feel tremendous gratitude to be part of the Jie Ming community!

My teaching philosophy is the core of who I am as a teacher. It constantly changes and grows as I learn more about the world from my students and their families, my colleagues, and my community. I strive to create an equitable classroom, where students can be challenged, respected, and empowered to express their ideas. My instruction is differentiated to support and meet students at their individual English proficiency levels. I use data to inform my decisions and English instruction. I will always advocate for EL students and support their developing superpowers as multilingual learners!
