Hello families! 

My name is Lijuan You, and you may call me You Lao Shi. I am thrilled to be your student’s Kindergarten teacher this upcoming year. This is my first year working at Jie Ming as a full-time teacher, and I’ve previously worked at the Academy of Holy Angels as a Chinese language teacher for 9 years. I graduated from the University of St.Thomas with a degree in Education and an endorsement in K-12 English as a Second Language. I’m excited about beginning our kindergarten adventure with your students and family.

My years of teaching experience have convinced me that a positive and inclusive classroom environment is essential for effective learning and will help my students succeed in and out of the classroom. In our classroom, I will encourage students to explore, question, and learn from one another. I aim to foster a sense of community where we celebrate each student's strengths and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth.

It is my goal to make sure that you’re aware of your student’s progress throughout the year. Therefore, I invite you to be an active participant in your student’s education. I also encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Your involvement greatly enriches your student’s learning journey.
