Welcome parents and Students.

My name is Tom Altman and I am the Chelsea Heights Science specialist.  The students call me Mr. A.  This is my 15h year at Chelsea and my 31st year teaching.  I received my degree in Elementary education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.  I took courses in advanced science methods at the University of Houston and completed my coursework for my Masters in Administration from Sam Houston State University.   

My wife and I live in South Minneapolis but have brought all three of our children to attend Chelsea Heights.  Our two boys are currently at Iowa State and South Dakota State while our daughter is a tenth grader at Highland Park.   My wife is also a teacher in Saint Paul.   I'm an avid hunter and outdoorsman, I suffer and celebrate with the Vikings ( mostly suffer), support my childrens baseball fanaticism with a number of Twins games each year and I am the Grillmaster for the Carnivore Dawgs BBQ team.

Our adventure this summer was to get a kitten for my daughter.  Kepler, after her favorite baseball player, is cute and somewhat fearless.  The dogs think she is a squirrel.
