First Grade Curriculum Overview
In the 1st Grade classroom, we teach using the curriculum and framework provided by Saint Paul Public Schools.  This includes Reader’s Workshop, Fountas and Pinnell, UFLI, Math Workshop and Writer’s Workshop.  Social Studies and Health are woven into our core curriculum.  Students also attend a specialist class each day (art, music, science or physical education) rotating on a weekly basis. 

First Grade Homework
1.  Optional First Grade homework will come home periodically- normally twice a month.  You and your child may do as many of the listed activities as you are able.

2.  Your child should READ daily at his or her level!  Baggie Books come home on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
