English Language Learners

  • Chelsea Heights Elementary School has students with a rich variety of languages and cultures. There are over eighteen different languages spoken in the homes of Chelsea Heights students.

Students that qualify for English language services receive direct support in English language acquisition. A licensed ELL teacher provides consultation and support to classroom teachers and student support staff based on each student's English language learning needs.

Erika Spofford is one of the Chelsea Heights English Language Learner teachers. This is her fifth year teaching at Chelsea Heights and in SPPS district.
