Ms. Gina

Hi Bruce Vento Family!

My name is Gina Dabruzzi and I am the ESL teacher for 5th grade. This is my first full year teaching at Bruce Vento!

I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!) in Sociology and Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences. Since then, I've spent five years working in Special Education around the twin cities and two years teaching abroad in Mozambique with the Peace Corps. I am currently working on a licensure/masters ESL program at Hamline University.

In my free time, I enjoy taking care of my indoor plants, yoga, trying new foods, and walking my dog (Ruby).

ESL services focus around providing students with the academic language and context that they need in order to help bridge the language gap and be successful in their academic career. I look forward to getting to know the students I will be working with and hope to create a positive learning space where all students feel heard and safe!

*ESL stands for English as a Second Language -- although English might be a third or fourth language, in language learning, any language after one's first language is considered a second language. :)
