Greetings Third Grade Scholars and Families!

Welcome to 3rd grade, my name is Heather Zurbey and I'm very excited to get to know each of you this year. This is my 12th year teaching in St. Paul Public Schools. 

I attended Hamline University for my undergraduate, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and a minor in Elementary Education. I am licensed in both K-6 general education and 5-8 science. I also attended Concordia St. Paul for my master's degree in Educational Technology.

When I am not at Bruce Vento, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I enjoy walking our dog Dewey. We also enjoy spending time cooking dinner together, watching football, and spending time in our yard. 

I am excited to be working at Bruce Vento because of the wonderful staff, scholars, families, and community surrounding us. The school offers so many resources for the families of Bruce Vento as well as the community. Please come any time to visit and see our class and the family resources. My hope for this year is to build strong relationships with each scholar and family I am lucky enough to work with. Together we will be able to provide the best school experience for each child that comes into the classroom; one that allows students to feel successful and confident when learning new things.
