Hello Groveland Park students and families! I am SO excited to be here! The image you see was taken at the 2022 MN State Fair. It's of me, in front of MN artist Leslie Barlow's winning work. Prints of this painting now decorate my door at Groveland.  

My belief system: The arts build community, increase cultural awareness, mend wounds and celebrate differences. Students with access to quality visual and performing arts programs have stronger social emotional health and are more engaged in their school day. 

My experience: I have taught Visual Art since 2001. I started my career teaching elementary art in the Seattle area, spent 15 years teaching High School Art in SPPS and this is my third year back in the elementary art room.  

My life: Aside from teaching, learning and creating my own art... I love to read, garden, take my dog for walks, camp and travel with my family (husband and 2 teenage sons).

Fun fact: I have a backyard flock of hens that Groveland Park 1st graders have visited the last two years. So if your student is a returning 3rd or 2nd grader, there's a good chance they've visited me and my chickens with their class!
