• PBIS
    (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports)

    What is PBIS?

Implementation framework for maximizing the selection and use of evidence-based prevention and intervention practices along a multi-tiered continuum that supports the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral competence of all students.

PBIS implementation involves explicitly prompting, modeling, practicing, and encouraging positive expected social skills across settings and individuals. When students are taught to effectively use relevant expected social skills for themselves and with others, school climates are described as more positive, learning environments are designated as safer, and student-educator relationships are referred to as more trusting and respectful.

  • a-MAYS-ing MONEY and Our School Store: THE BULLDOG

Students are able to earn Mays money for showing respectful, responsible and safe behavior. All teachers and staff are able to pass out Mays money to any students. At the end of every other week, students are able to shop at our school store, "The Bulldog." Students can only use their Mays money to purchase items. In "The Bulldog" we have new and gently used items such as school supplies, toys and miscellaneous items. Also, we are always taking donations of items so our school store can be fully supplied with items for our students. Please drop off items to Mrs. Yang. Thank you for supporting our IB Learners and a-MAYS-ing students!

  • Monthly School-wide Assembly

Every month, we have a school-wide assembly. At our assemblies, we recognize and award an IB Learner from each classroom. We also enjoy fun games and activities. It is a great time to be with one another to celebrate all the positive things that are happening at Mays.
