Hi Families!

My name is Sahro Vedder and I will be your First Grade teacher this year! I am really excited to teach First Grade because they are high energy, love to learn, and grow so much in a year.

I was born in Somalia but grew up in Minneapolis, MN. I went to Lyndale Elementary School in Minneapolis, Ramsey Middle School in Saint Paul, and Breck for high school. I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania (Upenn) in 2012 with a B.A in African Studies. I got my license and Master in Education through SUTR which is a year-long teacher training program between SPPS and the University of St. Thomas.

I am excited to help my students and families navigate through the school system. I value having deep relationships with students, families, and the community at large.
