Ms. Michalski

Hello Families!

My name is Maclaren Michalski (Ms. M) and I am beyond excited to be your First Grader's teacher! I am looking forward to getting to know both you and your student throughout this school year!

I grew up in Saint Paul and attended a small private elementary school.  Following elementary school, I attended, The Convent of Visitation for high school.  Upon graduating from there, I went to St. Catherine University in Saint Paul.  In 2019, I received my B.S. in Elementary Education along with a STEM Certificate.  I am currently in graduate school to receive my M.A. in Special Education, with an emphasis in Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD), from Concordia University in Saint Paul.  After graduating from Concordia, I will hopefully go on to receive a Doctorate Degree!

I began my first-year teaching at Benjamin E. Mays in 2019.  I absolutely love my students and enjoy building relationships with not only them, but their families as well.  As a teacher, I believe my relationships with my students are the key to them being successful.  At the high school I attended, they embody the following saying, "Not for school, but for life."  I embody this in my classroom as I am not only here to teach your student academics, but also give them the tools they will need to grow and flourish throughout their whole life.

Here's a bit more about me!  I love spending time with my family, friends and my little puppy, Finley!  My favorite hobbies include reading, shopping, and traveling!  I have been very lucky to travel to countless destinations and I love exploring new cities!  (My favorite place in the world is Paris, France!).  I also would not be able to teach without Starbucks Coffee and Diet Coke!!

I am really looking forward to working with both you and your student this year!  Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have at any point throughout the school year.  As a team, let's work together to make this your student's best school year yet!

Thank you!

Ms. M
