Dear parent(s)/guardian(s) of a 1^st grader,

I’m Mme Rivard and I will be your child’s teacher this year. I can’t wait to meet you and your child. I’ve been teaching 1^st grade at LNFI since 2012. I grew up in the South of France. 

I hope that you will be able to attend our Open House on Thursday, September 1st from 5 to 6:30. You and your child can visit Upper Campus and our classroom (2nd floor, room 2215). I can also answer any questions you may have. 

If you already have school supplies, please bring them in at this time, even if you don’t have everything yet. Could you please bring your child’s iPad to the open house if you’re going to attend (if not, on the 1st day of class)? Setting up iPads takes a lot of time, this way I can get a head start. I will return your child’s iPad by the end of the first week.

If you would like to get a head start on filling out forms, you can fill these forms online anytime. The transportation form needs to be filled out before the 1st day of school. Please, fill out the other forms by the end of the first week.

School supplies

General school supplies for 1^st grade

• 1 Backpack (no wheels, big enough for large library book) - Labeled

• 6 Ticonderoga pencils - pre-sharpened

• 8 fine tip dry-erase Expo markers (not ultra-fine tip)

• 8 large/chisel tip dry-erase Expo markers

• 4 glue sticks

• 1 box of Crayola crayons (24 ct)

• 25 heavyweight sheet page protectors

School supplies specific to our class. They are NOT included in the list sent to you by the school or available on the school website.  Please label them with your child’s name.

• 1 water bottle (this bottle will stay at school during the week). Please make sure your child is able to open the water bottle by himself/herself and it should not leak if it falls on its side.

• 1 plastic pencil case (not the really small ones or the extra large ones - 

see picture - they are often on sale for $1 at this time of the year).

• 1 pack of cardstock (not construction paper) - Colored preferred
