Ms. Milagros (Millie) Caban

Bonjour et bienvenue,

I'm the special education teacher here at L'Etolie du Nord French Immersion. I started out in SPPS district running a girls' group back in 2001, at Humboldt High school. I then became a paraprofessional. I went back to school for my bachelors in social work at St. Scholastica. I worked in a non-profit for several years as well.  During that time, I had the privilege of working at Hope Community Academy, and Eastern Heights Elementary. I decided to go back to school in 2019, and did residency at Battle Creek Middle. I graduated in 2021 from University of St. Thomas.

My vision and goal are to create a functional and healthy environment. I want to build rapport and trust with students/ families. To help scholars create an academic foundation. I believe understanding our students and giving them the skills they need to be independent and successful is key. I teach through a cultural lens in the hopes of developing a deeper understanding of my students.

I have two daughters, both teenagers, a partner, and a dog named Ms. Peaches.

Merci!
