Bonjour! Je m’appelle Madame Kaufenberg!

I’m thrilled to return to LNFI this year in the capacity of physical education teacher.  This will be my eighth year of teaching and my tenth year working in the classroom. I entered into education as a special education paraprofessional. I taught 3^rd grade here at L’étoile du Nord from 2011 – 2015.  I taught middle school and high school French after that, and returned home to LNFI last year as the physical education teacher. I have a master of arts in teaching and a couple of teaching licenses. My alma maters include: University of Minnesota – Twin Cities (bachelor’s in strategic communications and French); Hamline University (master’s in teaching, license in k-6 elementary); Bethel University (license in k-12 French); and I am currently at St. Thomas University (licenses in k-12 physed and 5-12 health). I love this school and I am passionate about promoting a healthy lifestyle for our LNFI community! 

Some random facts about me: I live with my husband, Brian, our son, Felix, and our dog, Teddy Roosevelt. I taught classical ballet for over a decade. My favorite color is blue. I like to sew clothes in my (very limited) free time. I talk about my brothers a lot.
