Salutation,

My name is Phyllis Briscoe. I am the Music Specialist at Mississippi Creative Arts! Music is a universal language that EVERYONE has the ability to explore and learn from. In my class, students will have a fun and fantastic opportunity to explore music theory, music composition, improvisation, instruments, culture, and so much more! My instructional approach infuses culturally relevant music and sociological information from around the world. I believe it is important for students to be exposed to culture through music in order to learn, respect, and grow individually as well as a community in society.

Students will also enjoy learning and exploring ways of infusing other interdisciplinary skills into music integration that will benefit them in all academic subjects.

Who is Phyllis Briscoe: I have over 23 years of experience working with children and adults in the area of Music, Dance, and Drama. 

I have been married to my husband for 16 years. I have two boys. I am a graduate of Augsburg University where I received my Bachelor's of Music degree in Music Education.

Singing has always been a passion of mine. I am a Gospel, Jazz, and Classically trained vocalist, Minister of Music, Youth and Adult Choir Conductor, Youth Peer Counselor, Liturgical Dance Director, Event Planner, and a Licensed Cosmetologist. Most of all, I love working with children!

I enjoy spending time with my family, playing trivia games, cooking, and shopping.

I look forward to taking my students on a wonderful adventure in music exploration!
