Hello Mississippi Creative Arts Families and Friends! I'm Ms. Tonya and I'm so honored to be the newest member of our amazing kindergarten team. Teaching is my joy and passion! I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Urban Elementary Education at Metropolitan State University in 2014

While I have had experience teaching Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade as well as Early Childhood, kindergarten has become my favorite to teach. There is just something so special about kindergarteners! It's such an amazing time in a child’s life to begin building friendships, gaining social skills and learning and discovering new and interesting things. Everyday is a new beginning!

When I'm not at school, with my family is my favorite place to be! I have a wonderful boyfriend Ricky and 6 wonderful children; Alyssa, Isaac, Camren, Patrick, Nate and Khloe. I also have 2 absolutely amazing grandchildren, Princeton and Paris. As a family we really enjoy spending time together especially out and about at places such as the Children’s Museum, watermarks, and the movie theaters. We have one lovely cat named Gracie and 2 fish, Elmo and Tropic. I grew up in St.Paul and am very excited to be teaching in such an amazing school district. I enjoy reading books, watching movies, going for long walks and hanging out with my family. I'm really looking forward to getting to know all of you!
